Every year I like to set a few reading goals for myself, because the feeling you get when you accomplish a goal is amazing and rewarding. Whenever I accomplish a goal, I feel invincible! It makes me feel super confident and ready to take on the world.
How many?
So, I set myself the goal of reading (at least) 40 books this year. Last year, my goal was 24 (2 books each month) and I finished with 33 books, which was totally unexpected! If you want to know which 33 books I read, check out my 2017 bookshelve on Goodreads, which you can find here!
Because of my unexpected succes, I decided to aim a little higher this year. I did some calculations about this: 365 days in the year devided by 40 books: this leaves me 9 days per book I read, which I feel comfortable with.

Another goal I've set myself is to review all the books I read. This is something I hope (and expect) my blog to help me with. I love talking about books, but I've found when I'm putting my thoughts to paper, I often struggle. So, to practice this, I set myself this goal. If you ever have any tips when you read one of my reviews, please let me know! I am open to feedback.
Other reading challenges really excite me as well. The challenges where there are certain aims for the books you read. For example, the one from Popsugar. I've found two of these challenges that I am going to try to complete this year.
Full House Reading Challenge 2018
The first one I came across and really like is this reading challenge, so I decided to give this one a try. It includes 25 books, which is within goal of 40, so I'll also have some free choices to go with my mood (I'm a mood reader most of the time: I pick up whatever I feel like, so planning what I'm going to read won't really work for me). One rule for myself: one book for each square, no doubling within the challenge!
The 2018 MMD Reading Challenge
The other reading challenge I found and decided to give a go is this one. This list consists of 12 topics to match a book to, and I am going to allow myself to double some of these with books I use in the other challenge.
Overview.
In conclusion, I set myself the following goals:
1. Read (at least) 40 books.
2. Review all the books you read (at least on Goodreads, but also here).
3. The Full House Reading Challenge 2018
4. The 2018 MMD Reading Challenge
You?
How about you? Did you set any goals for yourself this year? Any books you absolutely HAVE to read in 2018? Let me know in the comments!
